Drivers & their cars

Matt Holben
TVR Tuscan
Matt campaigns his No.56 AJP TVR Tuscan race car in the Dunlop TVR European Challenge series and is a great supporter of Bernie’s Sports Racing & V8s and gets out with us whenever he can. The car sports the Gulf racing colour scheme.

Charlie Holmes
GD Cobra
Charlie now has the GD works racing Cobra which used to be raced with us by Clinton Dorrell (photo right). Charlie is looking to race it at Silverstone. Check out Charlie's YouTube video at... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsaC4nlbuhc

Alan Breck
V8 Capri
“I started racing cars in 2013, when I retired from water ski racing, I started with a Golf GTI in tintops and soon upgraded to a Civic Type R, then in 2017 I bought the V8 Capri and have raced it extensively across the UK and Europe’ Our racing team is ‘Hellhound Racing’ and we carry out all the works on the car. I love racing in Bernie’s Sports Racing & V8’s as it proper racing with like-minded racers.”

Cheng Lim
Ram Cobra
The man who won the series in 1998, 1999 and 2000 is Cobra specialist. Cheng Lim was born in Singapore and has spent his career in the component car industry, having been a development engineer for LR Roadsters, makers of the RAM Cobras and D-Types sprinkled through the SRGTC grid. Cheng now runs Thunder Road Cars, specialising in a range of special projects including finishing Cobra projects for those without time to complete. Cheng's Cobra has been timed at 13.8 seconds 0-100-0 by Autocar and currently runs a 6.6 litre small block Chevrolet engine.

Andy Lambert
Ram Cobra
Andy Lambert is a driving force of SR> and of the merged-for-2019 Bernie’s Sports Racing & V8s (he is our driver rep) and on-track, well, he’s just a driving force. Mega RAM Cobra… Andy, what’s under the hood?

Mark & Sam Callahan
Taydec Mk3
Mark & Sam Callahan, a father & son team from Essex. Mark raced on and off for over 40 years from F2000 to TVR Tuscans. He'd considered he'd retired from racing until his son Sam persuaded him to dust off his crash helmet and have another go. They bought Andy Hiley's very successful Taydec in 2018 and have enjoyed some success of their own in it since.

Mark Bowd
Ford GT40
Mark’s stunning blue GT40 is a regular runner in our series for the last few years.

Graham Turner
GT40
Graham Turner returned to racing in 2000 after a long break.... 1975 to be precise! After three years of racing the reliable GT40 in a "road trim" set up, Graham is gearing up for the 2006 season with his new mount, the fearsome Porsche 917K. The 917 is purely an outright racer with no creature comforts, and he will not be driving this beast on the road to the circuits and race, as he sometimes used to do with the GT40. Once again he will be flying the Flag for Gulf Oil UK and hopes that both cars will be out racing together at some events.

Marcus Bicknell
Ford Focus 6.2 litre V8 Ascar Mk3
Having sold the 1971 Mustang Mach 1 to Martin Reynolds at the end of 2018, Marcus has this 2001 Ford Focus 6.2 litre V8 Ascar Mk3 set up for circuit racing. The colours are of 2018 NASCAR champion Joey Logano, to the last decal. Photo: some opposite lock at Redgate, Donington, March 2019.

Andrew Knight
Pontiac 6.2 litre V8 Ascar Mk.3
Andrew has run both his Pontiac 6.2 litre V8 Ascar Mk.3 and his 1966 Mustang, but finds the Pontiac quicker. The 97's colours are those of Andronicas, the catering coffee provider which Andrew runs www.andronicas.com. Hmm smell the beans.
